Dr. Cherie Conley
(PI, Co-I)
PhD, MHS, MIS
My research focuses on strengthening cross sector partnerships, and developing asset-building programs and policies to promote health. My doctoral work included developing and implementing a community-based program centering peer-to-peer support and religious social capital to promote healthy weight.
My current research projects include 1) leveraging community based participatory research, implementation science methods, and peer support to tailor the diabetes prevention program for communities, and 2) using qualitative methods to explore how nonprofit hospitals partner with communities to address social needs and drivers of health in rural and less resourced communities. I received my Master’s degree in Disease Control and Prevention from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, completed my PhD in Nursing at Duke University, and was a National Clinician Scholar before joining the University of Michigan School of Nursing as an Assistant Professor.
